Your handwriting font in Procreate

Procreate imports TTF fonts directly: Add Text, Edit Style, Import Font, then choose the file in Files. It also lists any font installed on the iPad, so a SnapFont install works too.

Import the file into Procreate

  1. In SnapFont, tap Export and save the TTF to Files.
  2. In Procreate: Actions (the wrench), Add, Add Text.
  3. Tap Edit Style, then Import Font, and pick the TTF from Files.

Or install it on the iPad

  1. Make your font in SnapFont (print the sheet, write it, take one photo).
  2. Tap Install. SnapFont builds a font profile; save it to Files and open it.
  3. Settings, General, VPN and Device Management, tap the profile, Install.
  4. Procreate's font list includes installed fonts, so it appears without importing.

Good to know

  • Imported fonts live inside Procreate and travel with the app, not with the document.
  • Once placed, text can be rasterized and painted over like any layer, which is where a handwriting font shines.
